DAY TRIP: SEVEN SISTERS COUNTRY PARK

I've not had the chance to get out of my home town much recently, so when my boyfriend decided he would drive us to Seven Sisters Country Park for the afternoon a couple of weekends ago I was ecstatic. It is such a beautiful place and I hadn't been there for years so off we went for an afternoon stroll! Now, I'm not the best photographer and only have my trusty Canon IXUS 220, but I couldn't resist sharing some of my favourite pictures taken that day.

The whole walk took us just over two hours - along the Cuckmere river to the sea, along the beach, up on to the top of the first cliff in the Seven Sister's sequence and then looping back round again. For such a short walk you really do see so much.

So incredibly white! It's no surprise that the Seven Sisters have been used as a stand in for the infamous white cliffs of Dover in film and TV (e.g. Atonement).

Blue blue blue! The whole top of the hill was covered in these, and there were buttercups everywhere, PRETTY!

Spectacular view at the top looking back across Cuckmere Haven towards Seaford. We watched what I think was a Kestrel hovering and swooping down around here for quite a while, it was way too high up to get a photo of unfortunately!

And finally, here I am looking ridiculously windswept at the top of the cliff. Originally we were trying to take pictures standing up but it was SO WINDY that day that my bag was getting blown down towards the cliff edge (hence being wrapped around my feet here) and I couldn't keep my balance.

Have you been on any good day trips recently? In Sussex or elsewhere?
