MADEMOISELLE MAURICE

Mademoiselle Maurice’s work is getting a lot of attention at the moment, in particular her recent origami street art installations.  I thought now would be a good time to revisit some of her work from last year that I find myself looking at again and again – beautiful and haunting.

Drawing from the legend of one thousand cranes and the story of Hiroshima bomb victim Sadako Sasaki, the origami cranes that feature in this piece are part of a continuous tribute to victims of violent actions across the world. You can read more about the genesis of Mademoiselle Maurice’s origami work here.
